The Aims of the Club are to :

  • Encourage restoration and preservation of Vintage Cars, Trucks and Motorcycles;

  • To display our vehicles in rallies, tours, exhibitions and other suitable events,  to share our knowledge and enjoyment and to educate;

  •  Establish and foster correct driving and maintenance techniques for Vintage Cars, Trucks and Motorcycles.

See the Clubs History page as to why these are the aims of the club.

The club meets in the Veteran Car Club rooms at 134 Queens Road, Five Dock, NSW

on the first Thursday of each month, starting at 8 pm.

The meetings are light hearted and usually include a short technical talk followed by a light supper.

 The Club welcomes these new members and hope they have a long and enjoyable time with us.

In total we have over 130 active members with many different makes of cars.  Our members regularly attend the meetings, tours and runs and are all willing to provide help and advice on repairs and restoration.

We have Model A Fords, Chevrolets, Oldsmobiles, Dodges, Chryslers, Pontiacs, Marquettes, Nashes, Essexs, Sunbeams, Alvises, Bayliss Thomases, Hupmobiles, Fiats, Studebakers, De Sotos, Gardners, Whippets, Armstrong Siddeleys, and Rolls Royces as members.

President's Report 2009.

Another busy year has quickly passed by.

This past year has seen our membership numbers remain fairly static. We have gained as many members as we lost by resignations, while several unfortunately who have passed away.

As the Financial Statement shows we have made a small profit and our subscription fees will remain the same for the coming year. Thank you to Alan for his thorough work in that department.

To celebrate our 30th Anniversary Annual Tour the Committee decided to go to Adelaide for the “Bay to Birdwood”. Those who attended really enjoyed the camaraderie and the scenery was beautiful.   Kim, with the help of others, has made very interesting runs which have been well attended by our core enthusiasts. It is sad though that many members with cars, which are capable of going on the road, are never seen from one year to the next. It is far better to wear the car out rather than have it rust away!

The Hub Rally had a different format this year as Kim combined it with the Orange District Antique Motor Club's Autumn Rally. The autumn tones were a delight.

The Newsletter has been a group effort by Shawn , Tony John and Ted Thank You.

Norm has taken over the duty to bring information to us from the Confederation of Motor Clubs (CMC).

John has received the mail, written the letters and has always got a story to tell us. He is also the Club’s Auditor.

Warren W. keeps a check on the registration and movements of vehicles.

Fred has looked after the new members and is always finding new ways to promote our Club.

Laurie has taken over the Entertainment portfolio for Club meetings and has introduced interesting speakers and displays.

Bill has produced the Membership Register with an unlooseable pink cover. This helps the members keep in contact.

Ian has taken over the good ground-work done by Steve K on our web site. He has changed providers. This has resulted in easier access to those seeking "Vintage" in their searches

  I would like to thank everyone, both on the committee and others, who have helped during the year.

Andy
